I had to have my old dog euthanized, the price was a fraction of other local places, they got.us in the same day and we're so sweet and compassionate
The actual doctor we dealt with here was kind, knowledgeable and all around great. The reason I can't give this more than 3 stars is because of the woman at the billing/checkout desk on the way out. I had an emergency with my cat and it was the second time I'd been to the vet in 24 hours and when I went to leave I asked if they would send me a bill and allow me to pay later because I honestly didn't have much money, I just wanted my cat to be okay. She shakes her head and snaps back at me in the most condescending tone "you're supposed to pay it now." I tried to explain I'd been to the vet twice in a day and I didn't have much money but then, the person I was with happened to step up and pay for me. She then proceeds to ask me if I'd spoken to the doctor about paying and I told her I'd spoken to him on the phone about the issues with my pet and he had told me to stop in earlier rather than later (because like I said, it had been an emergency situation) but we hadn't discussed payment at all. She then sighs and ever so slightly rolls her eyes and runs my friend's card without any sympathy for my pet or my situation. She offered me no other suggestions for billing and just took the money and sent us on our way. I'd love to return here to see this doctor again, but if, god forbid, something serious happens to either of my pets that requires expensive treatment and I can't pay hundreds or thousands of dollars up front for it, I'd rather avoid the unsympathetic treatment on the way out and visit an animal hospital that will work with my financial situation.
I needed to take my 15 1/2 yr old Peke VERY unexpectedly to this practice! Maddi got very ill unexpectedly that morning and I expected the Worst! We've been going to this practice for years w/my family..........brother, parents, etc. My phone very unexpectedly died that morning as well so I couldn't call ahead. I live over an hr away from there so I took a Big risk hoping they'd take us in! I was immediately greeted w/respect and care upon my arrival. I was in tears expecting the worst for poor Maddi! Just immediately after my arrival I was given a room where Dr. John saw Poor Maddi! He gave me the BEST news ever and gave her some meds! I walked out of there Elated for many reasons.............that Maddi still has life in her AND the staff at GFAH was right there to assist me and treat her!!!! The fees were not nearly as bad as I expected them to be!!!! I Couldn't ask for better treatment!!!!!
If you're looking for a place to bring your animal and want the Vet to care about them as much as you do, DO NOT go here. It's always very busy, you'll usually wait 30-45 minutes and then you're in and out. My dog kept having bad reactions to medication and all they wanted to do was prescribe new pills with no alternatives. They basically slowly killed my dog because I trusted them. If you want your dog to have the best care, find somewhere else.
Been going there for decades. Excellent vets. Always a wait, but always worth it. Make sure u have an appt. I think they're the best in the area.
